Céad Míle Fáilte ~ A Hundred Thousand Welcomes!

Here we seek a rest in the shade, some cool water and a little kindness. This blog is dedicated to peace, truth, justice and a post- industrial, post-petroleum illumined world in spite of all odds against it. I very much like the line about the ancient knight (see poem below) "His helmet now shall make a hive for bees" It is reminiscent of "beating swords into ploughshares" a sentiment I heartily approve of. Thank you for visiting ~ I hope you return!

Pancho and Lefty

And now for something completely different...one of my very favorite songs. Since I was a kid I have loved Pancho and Lefty, perhaps one of the best songs of a generation. The composer, Townes Van Zant does it the best, but I also like Willie & Merle's version. I first heard EmmyLou Harris sing it back in the 70's, and still will crank the volume way up & sing along whenever it comes on the radio.

Enjoy, all you Pancho's and Lefties out there, and for that matter, all you Willies, Merles and EmmyLou's... I don't think they write'em like this any more.
