Canada's "father of Medicare" tops the list of most popular Canadians ever, busting the myth promulgated in the U. S. that Canadians don't like their health care system.

The Southern Avenger on US DEBT and Generational Treason

Jack Hunter at Taki's Mag ~ writing as the "Southern Avenger" ~ calls a spade a spade in this insightful editorial piece posted to YouTube.

I would add to Sobran's laundry list the characteristic of a severe restriction of that fluid which makes good societies run well, the milk of human kindness. Compassion is in short supply under war conditions.

I am so tired of the old political game of good Republican/Bad Democrat - Good Democrat/Bad Republican. Whenever authorities play good cop/bad cop the people usually wind up getting screwed. The most unholy alliance of the past 50 years has been the marriage of totalitarian communist ideologue society (China) with international mega-corporations. Caveat emptor.

Capitalism, Socialism, Distributism

Here's a good article on distributism (link below) and a challenge to the lazy thinking that knows only two models(capitalism or socialism). The modernist epidemic of black and white thinking can usually only come up with two opposing views, whatever the topic.

The trouble with those seeking to defend capitalism is that they end up defending trance consumerism - a greedy, godless, amoral system of materialism 100% at odds with Catholic/Christian teaching. The notion of capitalism tempered by moral restraint is untenable. How can market forces act morally? Their fueling passion is greed. The point is that they concern themselves with supply, demand and price and nothing else, existing in a moral vacuum.

The core of capitalism is not about what society, or families or individuals need, but what will reward stockholders' investments and enrich the CEO's coffers.
