On Friday, January 8, 2010 Against the Wall Gallery, Heart of Gold Jewelers, LUX Center for the Arts, Mo Java Café, and the lichen will again participate in the North Lincoln Art Crawl. Crawl organizer and LUX Center staff member, Carlos Guerrero says, “Last month’s Crawl was a success for everyone involved. We plan to continue working together for months to come to showcase the variety of great artwork in North Lincoln.”
Gallery maps will be provided at each of the galleries.
Against the Wall Gallery, located at 6220 Havelock Avenue, will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Featured works by local painters, photographers, sculptors, jewelers, potters and textile artists will be on display.
Heart of Gold Jewelers, located at 2634 N 48th Street in Studioville, will be open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Featured artists are wood worker, Jay Schmidt; photographer, Mina Lee; potter, Pam Huckins; potter, Larry Pelter; and metalsmiths and Heart of Gold Jewelers & Gallery owners, Antonia and Charles Yost.
LUX Center for the Arts, located at 2601 N 48th Street, will be open from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. LUX Center for the Arts presents the work of Pulitzer Prize winning artist Ovie Carter in Through-the-Lens. This exhibition is a retrospective of this Chicago based photographer who is best known for his photojournalism produced from 1969-2004 when he worked for the Chicago Tribune. The photographs in this exhibition chronicle the lives of inner-city children and adults and are at the LUX Center courtesy of the Chicago Tribune.
Xanthous Mermaid Mechanics continues through January 30. Artist Brion Poloncic explores a wonderfully complex narrative of his imagination and experiences using pen and ink drawings.
Mo Java Café, located at 2649 N 48th Street, will have an art opening from 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and live music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
the lichen, located at 2810 N 48th Street, will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. In collaboration with The Click Clique, a local group of emerging digital artists, the lichen presents, Unclaimed Baggage. This exhibition showcases artwork that explores and “unpacks” emotional baggage, in preparation for the New Year.

Heart Of Gold Jewelers
Our little gallery
Dear Readers,
We are very excited and happy to let you all know that our new store and gallery, Heart of Gold Jewelers, is now open for business.
We will be having a Grand Opening event on Friday, June 26, from 7-9pm and we invite you to join us for food and fun!
Our location is 2634 N. 48th St in the University Place neighborhood in Lincoln, Nebraska USA.

The building we are in is called Studioville and there is lots of parking in the back. Regular hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10am-5pm and Thursday Noon til 8pm.
We have our original jewelry as well as the work of several other potters, jewelers and photographers and we also do repairs and will be doing some jewelry classes.
Please come see our gallery and tell all your friends and families.
