What a beautiful day here in Nebraska. The sun is shining and it is about 80 degrees (Fahrenheit).
I went to church and then to the grocer's, where the was a lovely selection of bedding plants ~ both herbs and flowers ~ and a joyful 20 minutes was spent selecting the "just right" ones. Then home, a nice brunch of bacon, eggs, a fresh apricot and rye toast and the donning of a sundress (even a 54 year old matron can feel like a little kid in a sundress) and then outdoors to plant the herbs and flowers. What a blessing from above.
Then I made a large batch of potato salad, the season's first. Nothing quite says "summer" like a tasty potato salad. Although it shall be quite a lot better tomorrow, since the flavors will have mingled and settled by then. Here's the Joy of Cooking 1975 edition recipe I based it on, with the addition of some Catalina french dressing, sour cream substituted for mayoniasse and extra onion and pimento. Mmmmmm.
I hope your Sunday is going as sweetly as mine. My husband is making happy sounds in front of a Chicago Cubs game on the telly, our daughter is napping and the cat is purring.
